Finding the Red Book and Statue Arm
Before obtaining the gem itself, players must navigate to the second floor of the police station to gather the initial puzzle components. The Red Book rests on a table near the entrance to the Library, accessible after obtaining the Spade Key. With the book in hand, proceed through the Waiting Room on the second floor to reach the Art Room, where you will spot a regal statue alongside its detached left arm.
Combining the Red Book with the Statue's Left Arm in your inventory forms the completed arm holding the book. Attaching this combined piece back onto the statue triggers a mechanism that releases the Scepter into your hands. Inspecting the handle of the Scepter carefully in your inventory reveals a hidden button that releases the brilliant Red Jewel.
Locating the Bejeweled Box
To put the Red Jewel to proper use, players must discover the hidden Bejeweled Box located elsewhere in the facility. Depending on whether you are playing as Leon or Claire, the box can be retrieved from either the Observation Room or the Interrogation Room on the first floor. Accessing these rooms requires obtaining either the Club Key or Heart Key during your exploration of the police station.
Once the box is in your possession, open your inventory and combine the Red Jewel directly with the Bejeweled Box. The jewel fits seamlessly into the lid's ornate socket, unlocking the container and revealing the S.T.A.R.S. Badge hidden inside.
Unlocking the S.T.A.R.S. Office Armory
The S.T.A.R.S. Badge functions as more than just a decorative token; it serves as a crucial security key. Examining the back of the badge allows you to retract the pin, turning it into a specialized USB Dongle Key. Taking this key to the S.T.A.R.S. Office on the second floor allows you to plug it into the computer terminal.
Activating the terminal opens the armory door, granting access to powerful armaments like the Lightning Hawk magnum or the MQ 11 Submachine Gun. Additionally, players can retrieve the badge after opening the door to use it later in the Underground Facility for an extra weapon upgrade.
